I AM TO BE A DOCTOR (Motivational Passage)

Sarah was a very hardworking student. She was conscious regarding her study and diligent throughout. In her matriculation, her hard work and Allah’s will gave her 93% marks. These marks gave her an idea that she could be a doctor. Thinking of being a doctor and wearing a white overcoat excited her from head to foot. She started thinking of working harder, being more diligent and putting in more strenuous efforts in her studies to fulfill her dream. Her two years of FSC. flew as fast as Hummingbird. She scored extraordinarily high in her FSC. exams also.

Soon the only hurdle left her in her pathway towards her destination was MDCAT. Her parents made her join the best Academy in their city. She went there regularly during the whole course of MDCAT preparation, listened carefully to what her teachers said and put in her utmost efforts to get what she wanted to have. Finally, the preparation duration was over and the big day came. Of course, she was ready for it. She gave her paper well. Now it was the time for her to relax. She knew she would get the admission eventually, and finally when the result came, she proved to be right.

The above passage you read was the story of Miss Ideal, Sarah. Of course, people like Sarah do get admission in their desired institutes because of the rigidity, sincerity and devotion towards their goal, but here the thing to keep in mind is the Mr./ Miss Ideal as described above are only one in hundreds. The rest of the seats are occupied by imperfect people.

Being imperfect is itself a quality what's the chill in being perfect every time and leading a still monotonous life? If you really want to be a doctor, being imperfect or perfect doesn't matter. What truly matters is how sincere you are with your studies, how devoted you are towards your goal and how much you pray for achieving it.

It is so obvious that most of the students who are accepted by medical institutes are not the perfect people. They are ordinary like you, like me. Most of them don't have scores like:

  • Matriculation 93%
  • FSC. 93%
  • MDCAT 93%
  • Result: “You are admitted.”

This is fantasy and fantasies and not the truth. The reality is that majority of the students who are admitted are repeaters or improvers. Even if some freshers are admitted, you may go and asked them how to devoted they were and how hard they worked.

Of course, we all face failures. There are ups and downs in our academic careers. But eventually, all those events superpose to make us brighter, more polished and nearer to our goal. The real heroes are those who use their small failures as the pressurizing forces to achieve a big success.

If you didn't score well in your FSC. it is okay, if you consider your picking power not to be very good it is okay, but if you are not sincere with your goal and not working hard enough for it, then it is the time to say that it is not okay.

Psychological yourself is very necessary. Daily tell yourself “I am to be a doctor, God willing, I am a doctor to be.” Work at your fullest, work as hard as you can so that you don't have to repent the rest of your life. And last but not the least, pray a lot. Build a connection with your creator, that is indeed the best connection a human being can make and ask him what you want. By Allah’s will may all your dreams come true. Ameen.
